The story of Sirmass Jewelry began in 1948 with its founder, Ali Fahd Al-Shaqha, in Riyadh. As a self-taught goldsmith in an era when there were no formal schools or institutions for gold and jewelry crafting in Riyadh, Ali Fahd embarked on his journey with immense passion and dedication. He meticulously crafted each piece by hand until he could afford a machine to create gold wires.
In 1950, Ali Fahd opened his first workshop in the Al-Dirah District of Riyadh. His precision, skill, and creativity quickly earned him a reputation for excellence. His unwavering honesty and dedication to his clients were legendary, ensuring customers received every precious fragment of gold entrusted to him.
His passion led to the evolution and establishment of “Ali Fahd AlShakha Stores for Gold” in 1966, positioning him as one of the leading importers and wholesalers of gold alongside owning retail shops.
In 1978, Ali Fahd contributed to establishing Saudi Arabia’s first-ever Althumairi Gold Souk, located on Al Thumairi Street in front of the historic Al Musmak Fortress. This market remains operational today as a testament to his vision.
By 1981, Ali Fahd became one of the top three importers of gold from Italy, supplying Saudi Arabia, the Gulf region, and nearby countries with exquisite pieces.
